MasterView

Industrial processing plants & food production process plants may have had laser scan data collected on a project by project basis over a period of time. Each project may have required several scans to satisfy the scope of work. Once the data has been used it is usually archived and as time progresses and with personnel changes, it becomes increasingly difficult to track and trace the location of existing laser scan data. This happens typically because there is no cost effective and easy system to manage and access all the project data collected for a site.

Shillong Design recognizes that existing laser scan data can be useful to plant owners, engineering consultants and construction companies for planning, maintenance, visualization and measurements. Generally major components in the captured data remain unchanged like roads, equipment & structures.

The power to recycle existing laser scan data should be tempered with an understanding that the existing site conditions may have changed since the data was captured and due diligence is advised.
We have developed and implemented a site data management system we call MasterView for several sites to organize and collate all project laser scan data.

MasterView provides the end user with the tools to:

  • Trace and track existing laser scan data in NavisWorks “Freedom” to organize and view laser scan project detail
  • Visualise 3d models with relevant existing laser scan data
  • Provides hyperlink access leica TruView Portable to view high resolution 360 degree imagery where measurements can be made
  • New laser scan data can organized and referenced into MasterView for a complete and up to data data record for the life cycle of the site
